French actor Louis Jourdan portrayed Count Dracula in a 1977 TV movie from
BBC (also shown as a 3 episode mini series). Jourdan is terrific and the script follows Bram Stokers’ novel closer than most version. The one item that dates the show is the use of “psychedelic” effects when Dracula is using his powers. But if you can get beyond that, I highly recommend it.

Villains are after only good as their adversaries, and actor Frank Finley is very good as Van Helsing.

Jourdan had a long career and is perhaps most famous for appearing in the MGM musical “Gigi” (1958) and as the Bond villain in “Octopussy” (1983).
